1) Please tell us about yourself. For example what is the funniest thing that ever happened to you or what about your makes you interesting?
Hello! Just to inform everyone my name is Tiffany Ingraham
and this is my last semester at Montclair State University. My hometown is
Phillipsburg, New Jersey located in Warren County. I live on campus here at
Montclair because it is too far to commute back and forth every day. I am
currently living at the Village with three other roommates and enjoying my last
semester here at Montclair State.
Some personal things about me are I love being outdoors, anything
that deals with hiking or fishing. I have also been in a relationship with my
boyfriend Dave for almost 3 years now and I am absolutely in love with him. I
like summer and hate winter; can’t wait for the warm weather to come. I am a
pretty laid back person and like being able to explore and be open to new
ideas.
A funny thing I guess you can say about me is a have a big
imagination and that is why I love to write and I am a book nerd. Currently, I
am writing a book with one of my best friends and it is coming along very well
and at the same time I am writing solo for my own book. I originally wanted to
major in writing but I figured I can just do it on the side. Most of the stuff
I write is fiction and everyday poems that have a meaning to life.
2) Please tell us your
concentration. Why did you choose this concentration?
I am currently studying Family and Child Studies with a concentration in
Gerontology. The reason why I chose this as my career choice is because I enjoy
working with the elderly and one of my passions is to help anyone who is in
need. I have prior experience working in a nursing home with the elderly and
always knew I wanted to have a career within this field. Once I finish my bachelor’s
degree, I want to pursue a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
3) What is the name of your internship site and what is your position?
The site I am currently interning at is called,
Van Dyk Manor Nursing home located in Upper Montclair, N.J. I will be interning
with a social worker, Speech Pathologist and the Activities Director. I will be
able to learn and assist and get a feel for each of these occupations.
4) What are your current career or graduate school plans? Or tell us if you plan to marry rich or travel the world!
4) What are your current career or graduate school plans? Or tell us if you plan to marry rich or travel the world!
My current
career plans are to graduate this upcoming May from Montclair State and
hopefully get accepted into Graduate school. I applied to East Stroudsburg and
Montclair State for Speech Language Pathology.
Depending if I
get accepted into Graduate School, I would either get a job with my bachelors
and if I don’t get accepted I would apply to the program another time.
Also, I plan to travel every year to a new place. I have
traveled to a few places such as Hawaii, Canada and a few different states;
traveling is something I would like to pursue along with my career.
I do Plan to get Married and that all depends on my boyfriend
<3
5) Also, tell us about your family - for example -
are your parents married or not, do you live with them, do you have siblings,
pets etc? What is an activity you like to share with your family? etc.

6)
Please also write about 1 or 2 topics on the syllabus that interest you and
WHY.
I am interested to learn more about the job application process and resume. I feel this will be very helpful with all of us in this stage of our life with our internships and being able to have a prepared resume for all different professions.
7) Last tell me what you think about wikis - or what you learned from the video.
So far
Wiki has been an alright website to be using and doing blogs on but I do prefer
blackboard because I been using it since community college but It is good to
have a change and I am excited to finish this semester and have a good
experience with my internship!
Tiffany - Did I know you were from the DE River area.no wonder you like fishing and hiking! I am living in Frenchtown. I so hope you are accepted to graduate school. It is not too late to apply to a few more programs. Really 5 - 6 is a low number! I know Dr. Price must be happy to have you in the Gerontology concentration! Sounds like you have a perfect internship! Will you study speech among the older population?
